Letting Go of Intrusive Thoughts and Finding Peaceنموونە
God is Sovereign
Who is in control of our lives? Let’s stop and think about this for a moment. The Lord of all the universe created us and every living thing. And not only did He make everything, but He is also holding all things together through His very being! This good God who loves us keeps us in His care.
Nothing that we deal with, including our restless wandering mind, is outside of His domain. This means that God not only understands everything about our minds, but He is also able to redeem even the very thoughts in our heads!
When we are bombarded with unwanted thoughts that come to steal our hope in Christ, we first need to remember that God is in control. He knows us even better than we know ourselves. There is nothing hidden from Him. And because nothing is hidden, we can go to Him with any struggle. We do not have to pretend with God.
So we should take a deep breath and remind ourselves that He is on the throne. We should praise Him for being the great Creator even if we don’t feel like it in the moment. We must get our minds off ourselves, and on to our Savior. Unwanted thoughts are like a fly buzzing around our heads—persistent and hard to catch. They will not go away by our own strength. So, look to the Lord who created all things, and seek Him in our struggle.
Prayer: Lord Jesus thank You for being in control even when I feel out of control. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. You hold all things together including my life. I acknowledge that you are Lord, and look to You for my help. Please remove my anxious spirit, and help me to set my thoughts on You. In Jesus name, Amen.

About this Plan
Intrusive thoughts can take over life and shift from one problem to the next. Just as one battle is won, the next is right around the corner pulling us into a spiral of anxiety. We can become free from these debilitating thought patterns. God wants to give us peace, and it starts with Jesus. We would like to thank Courtney Dusenbury for her help in providing this plan.
