Shepherd
"God loves each of us, as if there were only one of us."
- St. Augustine
It wouldn't matter how far you stray, your Shepherd will always find you. And like the prodigal son who splurged his father's money, slept around, and couldn't care less about the honour of his family — there came a day when he finally decided to make his way back home, shoulders slouched in shame. Unbeknownst to him, all along there was a light on his father's front porch, a fire on the hearth, and a cozy robe draped on a chair. His father was waiting each day to see if his son would come home. When the father saw the boy finally returning, he went to him — sprinting! — to welcome his son back to where he always belonged. The father shouted, "He was lost, but now he is found!"
We tend to wander, straying off course, thinking we know the better way. But our Shepherd always knows where we are, and is always trembling with excitement to welcome us back home. He throws us a party, festivities beyond our wildest imaginations, delighted at our return.
Our Shepherd, Jesus, knows exactly what we need. We are always found because we are in His care. No matter how far we wander, we will always be gladly — merrily! — welcomed back home. The porch light is always on.
Consider the ways you have experienced your Shepherd taking care of you.

About this Plan
Shepherd, Prince of Peace, King of Kings, Emmanuel, Light of the World… Jesus is called all these names, but what do they really mean? Each name shows us a different aspect of the heart of Jesus, and how it all leads back to the love He has for us. Come be encouraged this Christmas season as together we draw closer to who Jesus is.
