When You Follow Jesus, Joy Follows You
Yesterday, you learned from John 15:10 that when you follow Jesus and live according to God’s good way, joy will be yours! And what do you think you’re meant to do with that joy? Well, as Quizman will explain, joy is best and fullest when it’s shared. Watch this video for more on that!
Joy follows you when you follow Jesus. And what a gift to both you and the world that is! Did you hear Quizman mention that joy is a fruit of the Spirit? And do you understand what that means? It’s pretty cool.
It means that when you trust and follow Jesus, your life will begin to look more like Him in every way. He will give you the Holy Spirit to live in you and guide you. It will be as if He is taking you from being a plain tree into a tree that grows fruit! That fruit is good for enriching others.
You’ll read about the kind of fruit the Holy Spirit produces in today’s Bible reading. Today, focus on joy. Don’t be afraid to make your joy loud. Share it whenever you can. We grow more and more of it as the Holy Spirit makes us more and more like Jesus. And that joy will follow you!
Ask yourself: Which part of the fruit of the Spirit (from the Galatians chapter 5 reading today) am I the most thankful for today?
Challenge yourself: Grab the gratitude journal you started yesterday. Write today’s date and your answer to the “Ask yourself” question above.
Pray: God, thank You for helping me to grow more joy in my life. Help me to share the reason I have joy with others. May Your joy follow me everywhere I go, all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
