Spirit Fall
When was the last time you experienced adventure? Something that stretched your limits, challenged your routine, or prompted personal growth? When was the last time you adventured with God?
It is so easy to accidentally get caught up in the mundane, isn’t it? We can easily clock in and out of our daily grind without looking up to God or reaching out to others. This is not to say our everyday life and responsibilities are unimportant. We just often get too focused on our rhythms and forget to listen for God’s direction in our lives.
Here is the good news: every day has the potential to be an adventure with God! Jesus demonstrates the greatest possible adventure is to rise and walk with God the Holy Spirit!
A curious man named Nicodemus once stepped out of his familiar routine to gain insight from Jesus, and Jesus revealed the adventure of walking with the Spirit (John 3:5-8). Then, Jesus modeled this perfectly in His own life. He regularly sought guidance from God the Father and walked humbly and obediently with the Spirit.
We need the Holy Spirit to comfort, challenge, and guide us. When we break the habits of being busy, we encounter the Holy Spirit and experience renewal. We come to realize that He is all that we really need.
It is out of our encounters with the Spirit that we are called to rise up into adventure. This may include sharing the hope we have with co-workers, loving and serving our families, traveling the world to provide medical relief to those in need, or a million other opportunities God may set before us throughout our lifetimes.
You are invited into the adventure of joining God in His mission of redeeming the world! Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sin by dying on the cross and rising again, and now the Spirit has come to guide us as we share that hope with others!
Reflect:
How might your heart and life change if you earnestly sought to walk in step with the Spirit today?
