Praying without Direction from the Holy Spirit
A prayer mistake that Christians make is praying without first surrendering to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Bible teaches that we do not know how to pray as with ought, but the Holy Spirit helps us pray with words that are too deep to utter. Sometimes we do not know what to pray about a particular situation, but when we are yielding to the Holy Spirit, He will provide the guidance and insight we need in the place of prayer. Jesus teaches that the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth. The Bible also establishes that the Holy Spirit reveals to us all things, even the deep things of God. However, the Holy Spirit can only help us if we are first surrendered to Him. Therefore, prayer starts with surrendering to the Holy Spirit.
