Peacemaking 101

DAY 7 OF 7

A REPUTATION OF PEACE

As we come to the end of this training in peacemaking, I hope that you have already started experiencing more peace in your life. And you can rest assured that the effects will reach out even further than your own life.

People who have peace attract other people. Think about it. Would you rather spend time or do business with someone who is at peace or in turmoil?

King Solomon's extremely successful reign was recorded in history as a time of peace. "And there was peace on all his borders. During the lifetime of Solomon, all of Judah and Israel lived in peace and safety" (1 Kings 4:24-25, NLT). Soon all the other nations wanted what they had and sought out Solomon's council. "And kings from every nation sent their ambassadors to listen to the wisdom of Solomon" (v. 34).

What do people see when they look at your life? Do they see a haven of peace and prosperity?

If there is peace in your life, people will notice, because it is not the norm. Fighting, drama, and turmoil is the theme of most conversations, television programs, and news events. If your life is different, it will make a statement. And that statement of peace will point straight to Jesus. "May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me" (John 17:23, NLT).

Be a peacemaker! You have the power to bring peace to the world. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God" (Matthew 5:3, NLT).

About this Plan

Peacemaking 101

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God" (Matthew 5:3, NLT). If peace is something that needs to be made or created, how do we do it? In this Plan, we will take a systematic approach to learn how to bring peace to the world around us.
