[Revelation: The Comeback] Our Final Exam نموونە
THE GREAT WHITE THRONE
In Revelation 20:12 ̶ 13 we learn about the people at the Great White Throne, where small and great will inevitably stand before God in the final judgment. Peoples from all ages since the creation of the world will be resurrected to appear before Him. Only the dead will take part in this judgment. Let’s call this the final exam.
WHO will be there? Everyone who ever died without knowing Jesus as their Lord and Savior. All who died without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ—the spiritually dead—will be raised, not to life, but for judgment. The multitude will include Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Protestants, Catholics, etc. Those who believed in meditation or in doing good deeds as a means for salvation will be there. The moral and the immoral will be there. Priests, and missionaries will be there. Why would very moral and religious people have to face this judgment? We can answer with Jesus’ very words: “many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, we have prophesied in Your name, we have cast out demons in Your name and done many wonders in Your name.’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” (Mathew 7:21 ̶ 23)
WHAT will be judged? Each person’s life will be measured against God’s standard of holiness. This is the final exam!
WHEN will this happen? The judgement will take place after Jesus’ Millennial reign.
WHERE will it happen? Revelation does not tell us.
WHY will the judgement take place? It will happen to judge each person on the basis of their rejection of the truth and to settle all rebellion against God’s righteousness. There is only one truth, that is the truth of Jesus Christ. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14 ̶ 6). Hence, those who rejected Jesus, the only way to go to the Father, will inevitably attend this final exam. They will be thrown into the lake of fire because their names were not found in the book of life.
Accept the gift of life given by the Father through the Son. Put all your trust in the atonement work of the cross, so that you will be exempt from having to appear before the Great White Throne.
About this Plan
In Revelation 20:12 ̶ 13 we learn about the people at the Great White Throne, where small and great will inevitably stand before God in the final judgment. Only the dead will take part in this judgment. Believers will also have to face judgment and appear before the judgment seat of Christ; He will then reward each person according to what he or she has done.
