When You Don't Know What to Pray نموونە
When You Fear the Future
Lord God, I come before You today because I am confused and fearful about the future. The events that have transpired have caused me to question the path before me. But, Father, how thankful I am that You rule all things from heaven. You are holy and exalted—wise and good in all You do. I know that even though from my perspective the days ahead appear dark, that You have looked ahead and know the way I should take. Thank You for Your wonderful plan for my life and that even the setbacks I encounter can’t stop what You have purposed for me. But rather, those setbacks serve Your plan in some important manner.
Lord, I am grateful that my future originates and is found at Your throne. I know You speak and make a way for me. You command, and closed doors are opened in a manner that no one can shut them. Help me listen to You reflectively, actively, submissively, expectantly, and patiently. When I can’t hear Your voice, give me the endurance to keep seeking You and Your will. I acknowledge You as my Lord in all things; guide me and make my way straight.
Jesus, thank You for all You do on my behalf. I thank You for my daily bread and that You take care of all my needs—even the ones that appear unmet at the moment. Thank You for pardoning my sins and helping me forgive those who hurt me. Thank You for helping me fight and escape temptation so I can live a holy life that honors You. Thank You for delivering me from evil and from the bondage of sin.
Father, may Your gospel be preached throughout the earth, and may people acknowledge that You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. May every knee bow before you, and may every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. May Your will be done—on earth as it is in heaven—especially in and through my life. Continue to show me how I can join You in Your purposes and be a living, active, productive member of the body of Christ.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Lord Jesus. You are my Savior, Authority, Defender, and Great Provider. Because of You, I can look forward to the future with joy, expectation, and anticipation, knowing that You lead me perfectly and are worthy of all my respect, worship, obedience, and adoration. Thank You for leading me to life at its best. To You be all glory, honor, and praise forever.
In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
