Embrace the Race: Persevering Through Challenging Timesنموونە
Discuss and Connect
Today we encourage you to connect with a small group or a friend to discuss what God has been speaking to you this week.
Discussion Questions:
1. How has God been speaking to you through this week's Bible readings? What are some things that stuck out to you? What are some things you have learned?
2. Read Nehemiah 1:1-4
Nehemiah's first response was to pray and fast for Israel. What can we learn from Nehemiah about prayer? What are some specific areas that you feel prompted to pray about in your life?
3. Read Nehemiah 1:4-11
The Israelites' situation drove Nehemiah to weep and mourn for several days. What are some areas of injustice that bother you in your city or your country? What can you do to help make a difference in that area?
4. Read Nehemiah 2:19-20, 4:1-3
How would you describe the first attack against Nehemiah? Why do you think the enemy used this tactic to try to disrupt the building project? In what ways have you experienced this in your own life?
5. Read Nehemiah 4:14
Nehemiah called on the people to remember the Lord. What effect does recalling past victories help us in our present situation? Can you recall a time where God came through for you in a difficult situation?
6. Nehemiah was the catalyst God used to motivate and encourage God's people to rebuild the wall. Share about a time where someone inspired or encouraged you? How can you actively encourage others to make a difference in the world around them?
