[5 Conversations With Christ] Anxiety / Worry Part 2نموونە
The Angel of the Lord Will Take a Stand for You!
The struggle between Israel and the Assyrians tells of how God’s prophet had to remind the Israelites of the prophecies of the Lord and His promise to deliver them. Before the final attack, during the night, the Angel of the Lord arose and killed more than 185,000 Assyrians. King Sennacherib escaped and went back home. His sons survived only to kill his father as he was worshipping his gods.
King Hezekiah’s greatest enemy of was killed by his own sons and the whole Assyrian army was killed by the Angel of God. What an amazing deliverance! God responded in His might against Assyria and in His love for Israel. We now know how the story ends, but imagine how dreadful a moment Israel was forced to confront. They had to face their worst fears and cast them out, to put their trust in God. We often have to confront our underlying fears in order to put our trust in God. Learning to trust God is a lifetime process, one that requires daily and devoted meditation on the Scriptures. These accounts nourish our faith and teach us to rely on the words given by the Lord through His prophets. The Lord told Israel, several times, that He would deliver them from the Assyrians—and so He did. Israel learned that it was good to trust the Lord.
One of the surest and ever constant attacks of the devil is to hinder our prayers. He does it to ensure free space in our minds to send his fiery darts filled with worry and fear. Commit yourself this week to increasing and strengthening your daily quiet times with the Lord Jesus. A constant fellowship with the Holy Ghost will become your surest shield against worry, and the most effective weapon to overcome anxiety.
