A New Heartنموونە
The wounded heart
We all start the journey with soft hearts. But, along the way, experiences of life influence us. We go through rejection from people we love and trust. We experience disappointments in things we put our hopes in. Things in life don’t work out the way we expected them to. This leaves our hearts wounded in the process.
A wounded heart is hurting and unable to heal or help itself. Many of us look fine on the outside but are carrying a wounded heart within us. Just like a wounded body cannot function like a healthy one neither can a wounded heart. But because no one sees it, it can often be ignored, but we experience the pain and see its effects. If these wounds are not treated, they go on to affect different areas of our lives and our relationships.
God has promised to heal the wounds of our hearts by His love. Are you carrying about wounds in your heart that you don’t know how to heal?
Take your wounds to God as you would to a doctor and show Him where it hurts. Allow Him to reach out with His healing hand and heal those wounds. We allow the Lord to heal us by opening our hearts to him in honesty and vulnerability and His healing flows through His word and His presence.
Prayer: Lord, I bring my wounded heart to you today and ask that you reach out your healing hand to me. Let me not carry these wounds anymore but live free and whole. Amen
