Reset My Allegiance

After Jesus flipped tables in the temple, the religious leaders were furious. Now they approach Jesus to confront Him about His behavior. Jesus’ responses leave them speechless.

Where’s your allegiance? By all means, Jesus says, pay your taxes and be a good citizen. But give Jesus your life. The religious leaders were devoted to themselves, and Jesus reveals their selfishness. The religious leaders were full of pride and unwilling to surrender to Jesus.

Jesus says, “Follow Me.” When you hear that, look for the excuses that come up. Then ask Jesus to reset your allegiance.
