People are really into personality tests or profiles like the Enneagram, and Myers-Briggs. What about you, are you totally the "type" that's the parent of your friend group? Did you know one of the original personality profiles was something called "Birth Order?" There's an explanation for why you do what you do based on whether you are first-born, middle, the baby, or even an only child. Okay, so what if you don't have a sibling? Or what if your relationship to your siblings is strained, or there's a big age gap? Maybe you really consider your cousins or extended family to be more of a sibling to you. Makes sense.
Whatever the case, Jesus points us to the ultimate Parent, who brings rest and relief to us as we navigate life. Our birth order or relationship to siblings may influence our experiences, but one thing is for sure, we all need relief from life's heaviness. We all need a space and time to rest, and the best part about that is, we know we can't find it all on our own. We need each other.
What does true rest look like to you?

About this Plan
“Family” is a concept understood in every country, culture, and language, but we all have unique family structures, traditions, problems, and dysfunctions. It's not always easy to love our families, but the Bible is full of guidance on how to love each other well — we just have to be willing to apply that at home. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll discover how to do that.
