21 Day Prayer Challenge

DAY 14 OF 21

Day 14- Power Over My Thoughts

  • God’s Word
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:1-2 (NLT)
  • Today’s Thought

Sometimes we have to stop and think about what we are thinking about. In our culture today, our thoughts can so easily bend toward things that are not true, things that are negative, and things that keep us from living a life of freedom from worry and anxiety. We have the power to change the way we think by soaking ourselves in the truth of God’s Word because what we soak in, we will soak up and be filled with.

When the power of the Holy Spirit inwardly transforms us through the Word of God, He will change the way we think. This will empower us to have His perspective and thoughts, and then He can bring out the best in us to fulfill our purpose and His call on our lives.

As we continue to pray this prayer of blessing over family, our friends, and our future let’s pray that God will protect us and give us His power over our thoughts.

  • My Prayer
May the LORD bless you and protect you. May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace. Numbers 6:24-26 (NLT)

Heavenly Father, today I pray that you would help me to not copy the customs and behaviors of this world. I pray that you would give me power over my thoughts and give me the mind of Christ through your Holy Spirit. I want to be aware of it every minute of every day. In the name of Jesus, I pray.

About this Plan

21 Day Prayer Challenge

For 20 years, Michelle's father, Dr. Rod Masteller, used "5 P's" taken from the prayer of Aaron to serve as a daily guide to pray God's blessings over his life, family, and friends. In his honor, we have written this devotional as a framework to help you focus on praying for God's provision, protection, presence, power, and peace.
