DAY 14 OF 20

Have you ever seen a video of a Christian standing on a street corner yelling at those who pass by? They might shout, "You're evil! Wicked! Full of sin! Repent now." These ways of sharing our faith are not the most effective. They are demanding, condescending, and just assume a lot. After all, how can we know the heart of someone who we've seen for the first time, without any conversation or relationship? There has to be a better way, right?

One of Jesus' disciples, Peter, gives us some great advice for how we can show God to others and be ready when someone asks us about our faith. First, he encourages us to do good. Second, he encourages us to be ready to talk about why we are in a relationship with God and the difference it makes in our lives. Third, to treat others with dignity and respect. We can do these things with the people we play sports with, go to school with, and even the people we live with. But none of this can be done without a relationship with Jesus first.

How can you treat others with dignity and respect, so others hear what you have to share?

About this Plan

Over time, even the smallest habits can impact your life. So what are the small things you do every day that either draw you closer to God or keep you at a distance? In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore these four spiritual habits: spending time with God, spending time with others in community, using our gifts to serve, and sharing our stories of faith.
