A Letter in Lockdownنموونە
COKE OR PEPSI? LOL.
Paul is torn; is it better for him to die and be with Jesus in heaven? Or to stay, suffer and spread the gospel.
Have you ever had a choice to make and felt torn? Mars Bar or Snickers? Coke or Pepsi? Lol. iPhone or Samsung? Actually, that’s easy. Why would you ever get a Samsung? Doritos or El Tora (Aldi – they are really good chips)? Scrunch or fold (you can work that one out)? But more seriously, maybe torn between subjects at school or whether to do the dishes or not? Knowing full well that your parents won’t be happy if you don’t clean up. You know the feeling of being torn, and Paul here is torn!
What happened if Paul remained alive? Verse 22 gives us his answer, ‘fruitful labor.’ In other words, God would work in him and through him so that he might bear fruit so that others can know Jesus! That defines our purpose. As long as you have breath in your lungs, God has a purpose for your life.
There are people God has placed in your world for you to reach. I can’t reach all of those people in your world; I am not in your world. But God has placed people in my world for me to reach. Maybe you’re a great sportsperson and will reach people in that field. Perhaps you’re a brilliant artist, musician, writer, photographer, or problem-solver. Whatever your field of endeavor, God will use you to reach people. You were designed for a reason, for a purpose, and that is for TODAY.
Challenge:
Write down 3 names of people you can reach and pray that God uses you to reach them. Do this each day and believe God for opportunities for you to reveal Jesus to them.
Prayer:
Thank you, Jesus, for those you have placed in my life. Thank you for my friends, family, and those around me. Thank you that you have given me purpose. Use me to reach out to those around me that need to know your love today, I pray.
