The Man God Sentنموونە
Come into the Light
Jesus is the One who spoke life into existence. He made the heavens, the earth, everything, but people like living in darkness more than letting the Creator of all things talk to them. If God can talk to you, doesn’t common sense tell you to say, “Sign me up?"
But people like being in the darkness, miserable. They don’t come to Jesus Christ because He is the Light; He will expose sin. But as Christians, we pray to God, “Thy will be done. What’s in my life that you want me to get rid of?” Maybe God says to you, like He said to me, “Ryan, you listen to that band. Their music has some cuss words and talks about sex and drugs. That stuff is reminding you of your old life.” I’m not going to die and go to hell for that, but maybe that is something that is quenching the Holy Spirit in my life. God has better things for me. I’m done with that. I want to renew my mind.
Maybe you’re a Christian, but you’re battling old habits, watching porn, or getting drunk. God’s prompting you, “Come to Jesus.” He’s saying, “I’ve got you. It might take a month, a year, a week, or it might be instantly, but I’m going to walk with you out of this.” God exposes the darkness, but many people want to stay in the dark, in their sin, rather than come into the light. But when you come into the light, when you give yourself to Christ, He exposes sin and starts taking it out of your life by the power of the Holy Spirit. He can lead you through all kinds of trials and tribulations.
If you are not a Christian, you need to know that Romans 10:13 says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” You say, “Jesus, save me!” Right there, instantly, God declares, “You are saved. Your name is written in the Book of Life. You asked for forgiveness; you got it.”
It is just as if you were in a completely dark room, and someone turned the light on. Next thing you know, you can see the things you need to get rid of—the obstacles in your life. That’s what Jesus does. He comes into your life, turns the lights on, and you start seeing everything the way He wants you to see it. Jesus is the Light that leads to life.
About this Plan
John the Baptist was the man that God sent to prepare the way for the Messiah. The Gospel of John, written by the Apostle John, introduces us to John the Baptist’s ministry and to Jesus, God’s Son, sent to save people from their sins. This plan, based on John 1, shows God’s desire for our lives and spiritual walk with Him.
