If you ever want to see parents of multiple children start to squirm, ask them who their favorite child is. As soon as those words leave your lips, you’ll notice otherwise calm and confident parents stutter, stammer, and try to shut the conversation down faster than you can clean the kitchen. Do they have a favorite? Maybe. But, what’s more likely is you’ll hear them say how they love all their children equally but for different reasons.
As hard as it might be to believe, chances are it’s more probable than not they’re telling you the truth. I know this will blow your mind, but God is incredibly excited about you and in love with you. God loves you in a more in-depth way than your parents love you and loves you just as much as the "most spiritual" person you know. However, it can sometimes be hard to believe that God doesn't play favorites when comparing ourselves to others.
Consider one way you are unique. How do you think God loves you in order to meet your unique needs?

About this Plan
Jesus had a lot to say about love, but not everyone loved him. Instead, Jesus’ opponents hated him, attacked him, and saw him as extreme — a radical. And they had a point! The things Jesus taught about loving God and others challenged the status quo. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll look at four ways Jesus invites us to love others according to his revolutionary example.
