Paul is writing to Timothy a second time. This letter is written as Paul is in prison and about to be executed. Paul is obviously pleased with how Timothy is continuing in his faith and doesn’t want Timothy to lose heart because Paul is suffering. Even while in prison, Paul is thankful for grace.

When we suffer, we can complain that we don’t deserve it or recognize that by His grace, God has already given us better than we deserve.
