Walk Through The Bible 365 - June

DAY 7 OF 31

Sleepless In Hong Kong

Today's reading allows us to examine the purpose of our livelihood and worth. Notice the word "vain" is used three times. The Hebrew word can be expressed as "emptiness," "worthlessness," and "nothingness." The emphasis is on the Lord building our homes and watching over our cities, and if this is not the case, then we will find ourselves empty, worthless, and with nothing of value. From this we find the The Good News! If the Lord is building our home and watching over Hong Kong while we sleep, He provides for us! He loves us and takes care of us! Our sleep is restful and refreshing for our worries are cast upon Him.

Prayer: I praise You for your steadfast love and great mercy, Lord. Please show me the status of my work and the way I live. I want to be doing the right thing and allowing You to build my house and watching over our city. I commit my sleep time to You in order that I may be refreshed each day and walk in the newness of life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
