Crisis Convertedنموونە
Theme: God's Open Invitation
Crisis Converted Then:
The prophet’s invitation is urgent! Seek Yahweh while he is near. Forsake wicked ways and turn to a merciful and forgiving God.
For the exiles, it may have seemed that God was far away, tucked in their desolate homeland and distant from their needs. But the prophet urges, “God is close. Turn to him now! His devising's are different from yours, so seek him out.”
Crisis Converted Now:
We imagine that God is high above in distant heavens, looking down from a long way upon us. But, the incarnation of Christ says something different. It says that God is close. The heavens are not miles removed; they are nearer than our next thought. And God will reunite his heavens and earth in the blink of an eye.
So, our response is all the more urgent. God invites us to accept his gift of forgiveness and to do it now. Don’t wait for a deathbed confession. Don’t put off abundant life until your life is exhausted. Turn to God now and learn of his ways. His pardon will be worth it. Who would put that off?

About this Plan
This study from Isaiah 40-55 explores our identity as people affected by trauma but living in hope. In the exile, God’s nation had to find new life when their old life had been completely overturned and destroyed. Similarly, we now find ourselves trying to “return to normal” in the aftermath of a global pandemic. Yet, God can take any crisis and convert it for his glory and our growth.
