Crisis Convertedنموونە
Theme: God's reign is eternal.
Crisis Converted Then:
The prophet reminds the Israelites of what has been known from long before: God’s reign is supreme and eternal. At this time, the Israelites were under the reign of a foreign kingdom. Undoubtedly, they thought God had abandoned them. He reassures them that every power and kingdom of this world passes like dust in the wind, but God’s reign is eternal.
Crisis Converted Now:
Throughout the history of the world, different nations and parties have attempted to claim power especially during times of global conflict and fear. It is easy to believe that these false gods are strong enough to save, powerful enough to protect, or wise enough to heal. Yet, the prophet reminds us, there is only one God. Every other claim to power is fleeting. What fleeting nation or parties have you sinfully turned to that they might keep you safe in recent times? Repent today of this sinfulness and ask God to give you trust in his eternal reign.

About this Plan
This study from Isaiah 40-55 explores our identity as people affected by trauma but living in hope. In the exile, God’s nation had to find new life when their old life had been completely overturned and destroyed. Similarly, we now find ourselves trying to “return to normal” in the aftermath of a global pandemic. Yet, God can take any crisis and convert it for his glory and our growth.
