Crisis Converted

DAY 19 OF 64

Theme: God's Humility and Holiness

Crisis Converted Then:

God humbles himself, yet again. He lowers his universe-crafting self to take on Babylon, Israel’s captors. With barely a word, he brings the world superpower to its knees. He turns their songs of victory into songs of lament. He does this as the “Holy One” who is bent on redemption. He will buy his people back from their sin and slavery.

Crisis Converted Now:

No matter how bleak our lives become, no matter how far we sink into the dominion of darkness, our God humbles himself to take on our captor. In order to buy us back from our sin, this universe-crafting God became flesh and made his dwelling among us. His holiness covers us as we welcome him as our King. Our enemies of Sin and Death stop singing joyous songs in their defeat.

About this Plan

Crisis Converted

This study from Isaiah 40-55 explores our identity as people affected by trauma but living in hope. In the exile, God’s nation had to find new life when their old life had been completely overturned and destroyed. Similarly, we now find ourselves trying to “return to normal” in the aftermath of a global pandemic. Yet, God can take any crisis and convert it for his glory and our growth.
