Paragon of Results
In a business world that operates from a Quarter Se Quarter Tak (QSQT) mindset, where one runs from one quarter to another quarter, visibility of the longer term is clouded by operational compulsions of the near term. Few organizations focus on sustainability; undeterred by the market currents, they consistently pay attention to the longer-term while keeping their eyes on the near term. These corporates and individuals at the helm are those that leave a legacy for generations and are seen as role models.
A senior person joined my team with impeccable credentials. Yet three months into the role, gaps surfaced, varied teams experienced serious lapses, and pressure mounted to sack him. Recognizing his potential and taking cognizance of his domestic challenges, I gave a long rope, although the adverse impact in the short term was palpable. Many naysayers were of the view that I was lenient, but I took a long-term view, provided constructive feedback, and offered support during his most tough times. He bloomed into a proven leader in the organization, perpetuating the same support to his team members.
Jesus is the exemplar of results. The task He embarked on in Gen 3 to redeem mankind, He continued for over 4,000 years until the cross when He said, It is finished (Jn 19:30) and 2,000 years hence He continues to perfect you and me in His likeness (Mt 5:48). Therein, He set the model to follow − bear fruits that last (Jn 15:16). The learning, therefore, is that you may live life in the present which does not compromise your equity in the future, and to not let the ‘here and now’ erode the ‘hereafter’.
Aspire to leave a legacy, carve out results that last, invest in the long term, and avoid taking the easy way out. Your results speak volumes that your words may never convey. Let the epic work of Jesus in shaping, refining, and molding you into His likeness inspire you to be a role model in bringing forth those end results that are benchmarks in your company, industry, and society. A great finish is better than a good start!
Dear Lord, shape me into a role model as I follow Your role model. Amen

About this Plan
Relying merely on God to act in the absence of your initiative will not work. Human efforts plus divine intervention is the winning formula. When we prioritize Him, He prioritizes our tasks and gives grace from above to achieve and surpass our goals. This Bible Plan is about not letting the ‘here and now’ erode the ‘hereafter’. A great finish is better than a good start!
