DAY 4 OF 5

Identity

When you know who you are, who you serve, who your father is, and how to conduct yourself—when you know that your worth in God does not depend on the approval of man—it helps you to live a good life.

Satan is always going to attack our identity, just as he did with Jesus. He tried to attack Jesus' identity several times (Matthew 4:1-11), telling him, “If you are the Son of God...” but Jesus knew very well who he was and remained firm in his purpose. If Jesus had yielded to one of Satan’s attacks, he would have stepped out of the Heavenly Father's coverage and protection.

Today, the world is going to be in charge of saying all kinds of things to steal our identity. It will try to bring us to believe that we have no value, or that we are worth more than others to raise our ego, creating confusion and separating us from the coverage and the will of God. But we must remain firm, as Jesus did, not allowing ourselves to be carried away by circumstances or conveniences. Instead, we are to be thankful for who we are in Christ (1 Peter 2:9).

We are children of God and we must live in gratitude, with the certainty that all things in our life work together for good because we have a wonderful and eternal purpose.

Let's pray together:

Thank you, God, for so much love and for your faithfulness. Thank you for reminding me who I am in you. Do not allow the lies of the world to make me look away from you, but may I stay focused on the eternal. I ask in the name of Jesus that you would help me be always faithful to you, amen.
