Finding Great Friendsنموونە
Another part of being a good friend means taking care of yourself. Now, being healthy is multifaceted and this devotion can’t possibly cover it all, but particularly consider your emotional, mental, and spiritual health.
Who wants to be around the person who always points out the dark cloud on the horizon? Who wants to constantly be cheering the other person up or on? Who wants to always be talking another off the ledge or out of the pit?
I’m not saying we can’t have bad days and pray for friends that will love and support us through the difficult seasons of life. But we have to be the type of person who doesn’t live in negative spaces, and we must be ready to reciprocate when the school of hard knocks swings the other way.
Finally, you must grant the other person the same grace you’d like to receive. We are all human. That is not an excuse; it is reality. We will all say words we regret. We will all forget important things. We will all let another person down. It is part of the life we have on this earth.
Just as you’d like to be able to give apologies and make amends with those you disappoint and hurt, offer others the chance to apologize and make amends with you. Guard against the attitude that you deserve an apology, but instead, humbly focus on restoration within the relationship.
About this Plan
People can be one of the biggest stressors in our life. How can you find friends worth knowing? God placed people of great value around you, those who strive to love Him and who want to love and encourage you. Instead of resigning yourself to loneliness, learn who to avoid and what to look for in quality friends.
