Resilience: It’s Time to Get Upنموونە
The Word of God doesn’t exist so we can argue with it. It’s not up for negotiation or broad interpretation. It is what it is. It is truth, and it is crucial for our well-being.
If it is optional for you, it can never be transformational. We need epiphany if we are to improve our foundation. It’s time to replace opinions about the Word with obedience to the Word.
“He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure” (Isaiah 33:6, NIV).
The Word of God resides in a place of authority, not subjectivity. It is unchanging. Likewise, God is our stable, strong foundation that does not waver and isn’t malleable to the opinions and whims of popular culture. If we are to eliminate uncertainty and fear of our worldly endeavors—family, relationships, career, finances, health, etc.—we must embrace a fear of the Lord.
This doesn’t mean to be scared of Him. Rather, fear of the Lord is born out of holy reverence. If we are to be respected in our positions of leadership, we must begin with our own heads bowed to the One who reigns in total authority. The Word has not lost its authority, but we are living in an age in which many people have lost their appreciation of it. When we assume a mantle of holy fear and reverence towards God, we will discover solid ground beneath our feet. Over time, our stance will become increasingly secure as we become more like Him—loving what He loves, hating what He hates. In humble awe and respect, our fear of the Lord makes us empty, receptive vessels for wisdom and discernment. These are the solid materials upon which you continue to build a life that honors Him, while leading in a manner that reflects Him.
