When Death Parts Usنموونە
Jesus, Man of Sorrows
Jesus doesn't give an explanation for the pain and sorrow of the world. He comes where the pain is most acute and takes it upon himself. Jesus doesn't explain why there is suffering, illness, and death in the world. He brings healing and hope. He doesn't allow the problem of evil to be the subject of a seminar. He allows evil to do its worst to him. He exhausts it, drains its power, and emerges with new life. ~ N. T. Wright
I lost my father when I was 7 years old. I remember days of sitting behind our house crying and fighting with God, trying to understand what life and death were. I was angry with God, but I never stopped speaking to Him, even though it was only to yell. From that young age, I began hearing His voice, which comforted me. He never yelled back and never once gave up on me. As I grew, I truly experienced Him as a Father to me. He became my best friend, the only one who understood me. He patiently and slowly began changing me to be a better person. He took excellent care of me, more than any earthly father ever could. Today He still cares for me as his little girl. He has kept me in His ways, and I can’t imagine what life would be like if not for Jesus who rescued me. I know I owe Him my everything, He rescued me and my family. I can’t help but live every breath of my life for Him and His people. I am wholly His.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God…Galatians 2:20-21
If you don’t know Jesus, as He knows you, I want to encourage you to respond to His voice that calls you, for He is not a figment of our imagination or someone who once lived, but He is alive and with us. Jesus, through His death and resurrection, made it possible for you and me to engage in a dynamic relationship with God, where we hear Him as much as He hears us. Even if we don’t acknowledge Him, He is with us, but we miss out so much on experiencing true life when we don’t respond to Him and don’t acknowledge Him. Why delay choosing life with Christ?
Choose Christ, Choose Life.
There is a quote included for each day as well that helps us realize that we are not alone in our sorrow, but all of us have to walk this path sometime or the other.
We hope these 40 days will encourage you and provoke you to pray, as you go through this difficult time by renewing your mind with a portion of scripture from the Bible.
