Carriers of a Story
There is a song on our most recent collection of songs called “Can’t Deny It”, but in reality, it’s so much more than a song. It’s the powerful story of our friend Matt, who was adamantly against God and running away with all his might until the love of Jesus met him in the lowest of places and brought about full restoration to his life and family. It was an undeniable encounter for him and a nearly unbelievable miracle for us to witness. You have to hear it for yourself as he sighs: “I can’t deny it anymore.” The more we replayed his experience and bona fide life change in our minds, the more we identified with that same inescapable Love that’s not afraid of our darkest hour.
If you have chosen to live your life as a child of God, then you have a personal story of the moment when He chased down your heart and you fell in full surrender to His perfect, all pursuing love. But how often do we take the opportunity to openly share about it? I think we get so caught up in the here and now and forget that a remembrance is a powerful tool in sharing the love of God with people we engage in conversation and in life with. Your experiences in life matter and your story is something that no one can discredit or argue. This is exactly what Revelations 12:11 is about when it says that we will overcome by the blood of the Lamb AND the word of our testimony! You would be surprised by all God will do by you simply being obedient to sharing all He’s accomplished in your life. What if we allowed our stories of redemption to be the leading force to every conversation? What if instead of always trying to argue and prove what we believe to those who oppose, we instead started with… “I understand doubt. It’s inevitable for us as human beings to poke holes in everything in an effort to find absolute truth… but one thing I can’t deny is what God did in my life. Do you mind if I share?” We are all carriers of stories and these can be used in partnering with God to write so many more! The opportunity is ours. What are we waiting for?

Carry the convo:
1. Who are some people in your life that don’t know Jesus, that you could share your story with?
2. What is keeping you from sharing what God has done in your life? Insecurity? Doubt? Rejection?
3. Take some time to pray, journal, and communicate your fears about sharing your story with God. Ask Him to give you the courage, opportunities, and discipline you need to be used by Him!
Prayer:
“God, give me the courage to share the story You’ve given me and lead me to the right opportunities and people You want to use my story to speak to. I want to be used by You. I want my life to unashamedly reflect the redemption and joy You've given me. Help me grow every day in my pursuit of You. Amen.”
