Real Hope: Fear Notنموونە
Fear To Love
Fear not! Easy to say, much harder to put into practice. As a child, I had a fearful and anxious personality. I grew up striving to do the right thing as I was afraid of the consequences of not doing so. By conforming to what was expected of me, I gained some success; however, it left me bound, broken, and bitter on the inside.
It’s what fear tends to do. It takes an external negative possibility and translates it to internal negative reality. My belief is that faith is the antidote to fear. Faith does not guarantee the absence of fear; however, it does shift your internal dependencies from the things of this world and places it on the person of Jesus. This well-placed confidence will allow you to combat any external possibilities that you may face. Faith in Jesus Christ is a sure foundation, an anchor to your soul.
As a teenager I found Jesus, or more accurately Jesus found me, and my continued relationship with Him helps me grow in faith and love, setting me free of my fears. Jesus said, ‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep’ (John 10:10–11 NIV).
