Who Is God?نموونە
God is slow to anger
The phrase that God is “slow to anger”, is repeatedly used in the Bible. It teaches us two things. The first is that God is not hot-tempered, he does not punish people quickly but gives them time to repent and change their lives. But the second is that he does not ignore evil either. As Nahum 1:3 says: “The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty.”
That God is slow to anger, is due to his mercy, not to a lack of power. God wants people’s salvation. He is very willing to forgive those who repent.
Sometimes it might seem that the wickedness in the world is not addressed at all, that the bad people flourish while the “good” ones suffer. But in the end that is not true. God’s justice will certainly come and clear away all evil.
Does it comfort you to know that God is patient, but also that he will bring justice in the end?
