Application thoughts

Jesus humbled Himself to submission and God raised Him up. Paul exhorts us to have the same mindset as that of Jesus. He calls us to "work out" our salvation "with fear and trembling" because the Spirit of God in us will not remain idle. He not only moves us to action, He even influences our will, such that we want to live out the lives that God has called us to live. 

Do you just sit back relieved to have "escaped hell" or do you have a real faith that gets straight to work?

Are you seeing in yourself the likeness of Christ - giving up your desires and your rights so that you may be able to fulfill His good purposes?
