Looking for Peace? نموونە
Where do you find peace?
Peace seems to be one of the most elusive commodities during this worldwide pandemic. Whether we’re hearing about the riots, COVID-19, or governmental mandates and shutdowns, the world seems to be unraveling. It’s difficult to find peace in these storms.
Are you having trouble finding peace? I have to admit I’ve struggled as well.
It reminds me of the passage in the Bible that describes a horrible storm on the Sea of Galilee. Despite the fact that several of the disciples were experienced fishermen, all of them were overcome with fear. They had no peace. In the meantime, Jesus was sleeping in the midst of the storm. He had total peace. What was the difference? Faith! The disciples woke Him, saying, “'Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!' He replied, 'You of little faith, why are you so afraid?'” (Matthew 8:25-26, NIV)
The disciples accused Jesus of not caring because He was at peace, and they were not; they were freaking out. Many people who are in a crisis in our city blame God. It’s a common human trait to blame God for things we can’t understand or control. The truth is that internal control is the secret to managing things we can’t control.
Peter wrote about peace: “Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it.” (1 Peter 3:11, NKJV) Peace is so elusive, we need to pursue it. The only way to find it is to look to God for internal peace. There are so many things in life we cannot control. Storms come, conflicts come, hardships come, illnesses come, but Jesus can step in and calm our storms.
“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.” (Mark 4:39, NKJV) Notice God is the only one who can calm all the storms of life.
I’m praying you will hand every circumstance, setback, and fear to God. I’m praying for you to find peace in spite of the instability of our world.
Because Jesus is still Lord, and you’re a miracle.

About this Plan
Why would rest be listed in the second chapter of the Bible? Why would God give it as a commandment to Moses on Mount Sinai? Why is honoring the Sabbath listed in the Ten Commandments? In this reading plan, writer Paul Marc Goulet shares about this topic and how you can rest and find peace.
