Realigning Our Perspective

DAY 4 OF 4

The Power of Response

For years, what has enabled the people of God to conquer their challenges and problems is their decision to respond from the position of siding with God. Our response should be made from a position of standing and siding with God. But today, I want to remind you about the hero who did not give in to a temporary challenge, but spent the night with a devourer and came out in victory.

During that night, though we do not know word by word Daniel’s conversation with himself while in the pit, face to face with the lion, surely we can guess his human thoughts. When the King called out to him, the response of his tongue was one which was victorious over the situation and his own thoughts and showed his meekness in saying “O king live forever.” This shows how Daniel spent the night and his strong relationship with God.

The strength of our responses will be measured as we pass through tests and trials. Daniel had the right to be rude and vengeful to the king and all his servants who planned maliciously to throw him into the lion’s den. But a response is a choice; because Daniel was equipped with the truth, he understood how and in what way to respond. The power of response is an excellent characteristic that is formed in us after we pass through tests and trails. That’s why Jesus’ response to those who flogged, mocked, and crucified Him was found to be the opposite of what you would think. (Luke 23:32-34)

As we pass through tough seasons, we are limited in movement and walk with caution and fear. But the choice of response we give to the darkness and fear determines our future life.

Life application

What can we learn from Daniel’s response to the difficult situation he was faced with? Try to see the situation in depth.

 Prayer

Lord, help us be steadfast through everything in season and out of season.
