Fear - SE Studentsنموونە
Typically when we are afraid, we just want OUT of the situation. We might beg and plead with God to remove the circumstances we’re afraid of, or to get us out. We want to escape and hide. David teaches us in Psalm 27 to do something else instead: to seek God’s presence. He could have asked for anything from God, but the one thing he asked God for was permission to dwell in His house (to BE with Him) and to see His face. He didn’t ask for God to rescue him from his enemy, because he already knew that God was his rescuer. He just asked God for His presence.
David trusted that, in trouble, God would keep him safe. Instead of hiding in his fear, David believed the Lord would hide him in His presence. Wherever God’s presence is, there is safety and security and rest. When we are afraid, we simply need to look for God’s presence, and His presence is everywhere. The next time you are afraid, simply ask God to remind you that He is with you. You are not alone. His presence is the safest place for you to hide.
