Nobody Kneels in Prayer Anymore | the Posture of Prayerنموونە
When was the last time we knelt in prayer? Oftentimes older generations have far greater capacity and revelation of walking in older spiritual practices over a long period of time than our younger generations. All of us have had different spiritual experiences and seen different practices within our own family of origin, but nobody kneels in prayer anymore. How do we develop a posture of prayer?
Jesus had some customs and prayer practices which He demonstrated throughout the Gospels. We need some healthy habits that can move us forward in our spiritual walk with Jesus. We’re always looking for something new that can propel us forward, but it’s often tried and true practices that have been implemented across thousands of years within communities of faith that become transformational. We need to develop the capacity to endure in the old things! Customs ground us in the midst of uncertainty and keep us tethered to Christ.
Jesus knelt in prayer.
