The first step in our ABCs of Fitness was Ask. Today, we introduce the B which is Believe.
"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (Matthew 21:20)
Believing is the first step in answered prayers. How do you get a faith strong enough to believe that God will answer prayer? Just know you do not have to have great faith in God. You only need to have faith in a great God. It is not about the quantity of your faith, but rather the quality of your faith to believe that God will answer your prayer. Jesus said, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)
The Bible also says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24) We must believe God cares about us, hears our prayers and He WILL answer our requests.
In 1954 Roger Bannister set a new world record when he ran the mile in less than four minutes. No one had run a mile in that time, because no one believed it was possible. Bannister simply believed it could be done. Since 1954, hundreds of athletes have accomplished a sub-four-minute mile. In fact, it has become commonplace for professional athletes because one man proved it could be done.
If a person can accomplish an amazing act on their own ability, imagine what you can do when you put your faith in God. Whatever it is that you desire; if you ask with a grateful heart, passionately work on it, and sincerely believe, then sit back and watch how He answers your prayer.
If you are going to ask God for something, but you don’t believe it will happen, why even take the time to pray about it. There is absolutely no reason to ask for something that you do not believe will happen. But if, as Jesus says, you believe that God will make it happen, it will! “Because of your faith, it will happen”. (Matthew 9:29)
To do:
1. Continue to ask God each day for help to reach your goals.
2. Believe that God will answer your prayer.
3. Drink 8 glasses of water each day.
