Freedom Is Yours

DAY 4 OF 7

We often build walls around our hearts to protect ourselves from pain and suffering. Because I had been a victim of abuse, I did not trust people or God to protect me, so I subconsciously spent many years building defense mechanisms to protect myself. But in order to step into the destiny that God had planned and prepared for me, I had to allow the Holy Spirit to do a deep work inside.

I learned that God wanted to take my hard heart and make it tender in order to fulfill His purposes in my life. I had to learn to trust God and to trust people. I had to lose control and learn how to feel again. This was the most painful process of my life.

But as I committed to the process of healing and restoration, I discovered that our heavenly Father is loving, kind, compassionate and gracious. In His tender mercy and endless patience, He proved to me time and time again that He is faithful. And He is faithful to you too! Hand over your prison key to Jesus and allow Him to do what only He can do.
