What if I can't see God's presence in my life?
Sometimes it is enough to simply see where God is absent. We can often learn as much from where God is not as we can from where he is.
The places in our world where God is not being welcomed are radically different than the places where he is being sincerely welcomed. The places in our own personal lives where God is not being welcomed are radically different than the places in our lives where he is being welcomed too.
Seeing the absence of God in areas of your own life is actually the beginning of a relationship with God in those areas. Seeing the need for God is the beginning of seeing God. Jesus promises that the pure in heart will see him (Matthew 5:8). Seeing the need for God is the beginning of your heart being purified.
So don't run away from the parts of yourself where you see God is absent. Recognizing God's absence is the beginning of a deeper relationship with God and his presence in your life. The same is true for those around you who may not yet be ready to welcome God. Sometimes living in God's absence is the first step toward recognizing the need for God's presence.
About this Plan
Do you ever feel like parts of you, especially your relationship with God, are hidden from the eyes of others? Do you ever feel lost in the world as someone who has found Jesus Christ? Do you ever feel like some parts of your walk with God are impossible for even your Christian brothers and sisters to fully comprehend? Every Christian in some way is hidden with Christ in God.
