FULLNESS OF LIFE

DAY 12 OF 14

In my youth I was a hairdresser. And let me tell you, I heard things.

I’m not sure if it was the relaxing shampoo or the undivided attention and listening ear every six weeks that did it, but people shared their lives with me with a breathtaking honesty. It made me realise that we are created to be known, warts and all - and that sharing our weaknesses and confessing our sins brings healing.

It’s not easy though. It feels vulnerable to admit our defects. Perhaps that’s why people choose their hairdresser to be vulnerable with, because they can keep their honest confessions hidden from the people who love them. That seems sad to me.

Because while I might have been able to offer a listening ear and a fancy haircut, we didn’t pray for each other, confess our sins to each other and find healing together.

But we can do that with each other, we can know each other and confess our sins to each other. We can know healing.

Let’s know each other. Let’s live in the fullness of life that God intends.

PRAYER

Lord, help us to trust each other with our truth, to know healing as we pray together.

About this Plan

FULLNESS OF LIFE

Sometimes as much as we long for community, we retreat from our neighbours and miss out on the fullness of life that God intends for us. This plan reminds us of how God wants us to love our neighbours so we can all experience the fullness of life He intends for us.
