The Holy Spirit and Jesus Intercede for Us
Welcome back beautiful daughter! I am glad you are back for day four.
Today I have a question for you. Do you ever have one of those days or moments where you are so filled with anxiety and worry that you literally have no words because a million thoughts are running through your head? You know, where all you can do is cry—the cry that is so deep that you lose your breath and gasp for breath as tears are uncontrollably falling?
I have. I remember one specific day. I was at work and my ex called making threats: I either do the thing he was telling me to do right then and there, or he would ..... What he was threatening to do would impact my boys—their level of normalcy and the safe world I had worked so hard to create for them.
I couldn’t breathe. I knew I should pray, but I didn’t know what to pray. Should I pray that the tires of his vehicle blow out on the way to carry out the threat? Should I pray he get violently ill? Should I, once again, cave to his demands to try to protect my boys from the craziness? Should I cancel my next conference call and drive up to the school to grab my boys?
In the midst of me running through the many thoughts in my brain, my boss called me. She could tell something was up. I confided in her and told her what was going on. She prayed with me and gave me a verse in Romans, chapter 8. That verse brought calm, quiet tears and immense comfort to me. Since that day all those many years ago, these words still provide me comfort. I have grown to love them and lean on them.
The verse she gave me tells me that when I don’t know what to pray, I have no worries because the Holy Spirit intercedes for me with "groanings too deep for words". That is some serious interceding! It made me feel like I was loved and deeply cared for.
The other verse in today’s reading happens to also be in Romans 8. It tells me that Jesus himself is interceding for me. WHAT? There I was, a hot mess. I didn’t know what to do or what to pray, but I had the Holy Spirit and Jesus both interceding on my behalf to God! It was such a comfort to know that I was not alone, that I had two parts of the trinity that cared enough about me to intercede for me! I felt so loved in that moment.
You all know what is next. If you will, highlight those verses. Write them down. Speak them out loud over your heart and your life. Put them up where you can read them.
Is your mirror getting filled up with verses yet? If yes, put it on your fridge or on the wall as you enter or leave your home. Mediate on these truths, sweet sister.

About this Plan
Statistics show that about 1 in 2 women have endured an attempted or completed sexual assault and 1 in 3 are impacted by domestic violence. This shows that we have many women who need hope and healing! I’m not an expert, just someone within those statistics who loves Jesus and wants to help others.
