#Goals - Part 2 - SE Students

DAY 2 OF 5

It is usually easy to be a good friend to someone when we have things in common, we get along, we have fun together, and they are kind to us. It’s harder to be a good friend if someone has done wrong toward us. But a time may come when someone will say something negative about you, hurt your feelings, or treat you poorly—even someone you thought of as a friend.

The world might tell you to get revenge, to get angry with them, ignore them, or to cut them out of your life entirely. However, Jesus says quite the opposite. He tells us not only to love our friends, but also to love our enemies

This kind of love is an upside-down, backward way of living when compared with how the world teaches us to live or love. You might have heard the phrase “hurting people hurt people.” If someone has hurt you, often it is because they are hurting in some way. Imagine how you could change their world around if, instead of revenge, you loved them when they hurt you.
