STRENGTHEN EACH OTHER
Therefore, comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
As humans we cannot live alone. We need community with other people. This is obvious in the lives of the believers. In His last message to the disciples before ascending to heaven, Jesus asked them to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth. We should also be a witness of the love of Christ and this should be started from "Jerusalem"—our immediate family members and other brothers and sisters in Christ and continue wherever we are.
Paul advised the Colossians to care for and build up each other. We need to strengthen our brothers and sisters, pay attention to their situations, and give them support because by doing so, we are doing God’s commands to love.
Paul also told us not to be tired of doing good to everyone, especially to our fellow believers. We should feel what is felt or experienced by our brothers and sisters. If we have time, we could also visit those who are weak and need our attention, coming to them with prayers and encouraging words.
We should not be quick to judge and turn away from our brothers and sisters who are falling because of their mistakes. Remind them, give them advice, and help them to get up and return to the Lord. May we have compassion for those who have fallen. May we be able to rejoice and encourage those who are in our circles. How wonderful it is to build and strengthen each other because by doing so, many people will see and believe.
The power of God is at work when we build up and encourage one another.
