Key Events: Key Historical Events Of The Bible

DAY 5 OF 89

Creation

Romans was written by a man named Paul to a church in the city of Rome. Paul is explaining how God can still be righteous even though he judges those who have never heard of Jesus. He begins his explanation in verse 18. Paul points out that a common experience for everyone is being exposed to creation. The event of creation gives strong evidence of God’s existence and his loving nature. God provided for everyone in abundant ways, but rather than recognize the God who did all this, they worship things in creation. The idols many have worshiped in human history look like things God created but ignore the God who created them. This results in more sin and more rejection of God.

We don’t find too many people worshiping idols today, but God is still rejected as the Creator. Once we reject his existence, God’s standards are also rejected.
