Mean Girls: The Power of Words With Leanna Crawford

DAY 5 OF 5

DAY 5

Lord, find me and remind me that my worth

Is worth so much more than their words

We can listen to motivational talks every single morning, we can spend every weekend crossing off a self-care checklist, and we can even listen to our friends speak encouraging words into our lives, but that won’t take away the damage from those painful words. Don’t get me wrong, those things are great and you should do them for sure, but that shouldn’t be where you spend the majority of your time.

Words are powerful, they have the power to destroy, but they also have the power to heal. When Jesus said, “It is finished,” on the cross, He was saying that for you and me. If anyone’s words matter, it’s His. He was saying, “I know what they said about you, I know how much pain it’s caused you, but let me take that burden from you. I will carry it for you so you don’t have to. In fact, I’ll take on all the pain so you don’t have to. And then I will mend every single broken piece of your heart and put it together.” God doesn’t think you’re worth something, He said, “you are worth everything to Me.” He decided that you and I are worth His Son’s death. You and I are worth everything to Him.

Your worth is beyond comprehension. You're worthy because of what God did. Ask Him to open your eyes to His love for you. The most powerful words I know were written in a very large book, well, actually, sixty-six books. Each and every one pointing to His love for you. Those words are more important than anything cruel someone has said to you. When we are filled up with the Word of God, that’s what begins to overflow and spill into our lives.

Prayer:  Lord, find me and remind me that my worth is worth so much more than their words.
