DAY 4 OF 14

The Greatest Hope

Psalm 130:7

Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with Him is full redemption.

There are always guardsmen at the gate of a palace or a city. Their job is to stand still and guard the place and they are not allowed to move or leave until a certain appointed time. Even when they are hungry or sleepy, they have to stay still. They are not allowed to leave their spot half-way.

The writer of this Psalm describes that he was waiting for God like guardsmen waiting for the morning to come. It’s the picture of guardsmen who were on duty the whole night and felt that the night was really dark and long, yet he had no doubt that the morning would come and so he waited and anticipated expectantly.

This is what God expects from us too. No matter how bad the situations around you are, wait for God patiently, do not rush, and do not give up halfway because you surely will find your hope in Him. God is the greatest hope.

Let’s come to God with a heart that is filled with trust, hope, and expectation to Him.

Prayer

Dear God, Your love is deeper than the ocean and higher than heaven. I know that the hope that I put in You will not be in vain as You are my greatest hope. Amen.
