Fresh and Free!
Okay, so you’ve made it to the final day of this Bible Plan on how to stay fresh and free from sin and all kinds of wrong thinking.
You’re able to identify sin for what it is: a dead end. You’re able to repent and find forgiveness form God. You’re able to talk to someone you trust to help you stay accountable to walking in God’s light. You’re able to replace your daily habits so that even your routines are helping you stay close to your heavenly Father.
Guess what? You’re on the path to a fresh and free life! Watch this video for a quick review of what you’ve learned.
Find the refreshing freedom that comes from revealing sin, repenting, and replacing old habits with new standards. That’s how you can get fresh—and stay fresh.
Today, your only verses to read are from Ephesians chapter 4. You’ve already read these verses earlier this week. You’ll find they teach you such an excellent path for a fresh life. As you work through the “Ask yourself” and “Challenge yourself” tasks below, allow God to work the truth of these verses into your heart and mind for good.
Ask yourself: Which parts of my life without Jesus do I need to work the hardest to get rid of right now? In other words, what are the sins that seem to tangle me up the most right now?
Challenge yourself: Grab some paper and something to draw with. As you read today’s verses from Ephesians 4:21-24, make a cool word collage by writing down every word you read that has to do with being made fresh and free from sin. Fill the page with the words. Make some of them huge, others small. Some with fancy letters, some plain. You’re the designer—have fun with it! For example (using the NLT version) you might use these words: Jesus, truth, throw off your old sinful nature, renew, new nature, righteous, holy, etc. Decorate the page as much as you’d like. When you’re done, hang your fresh word art somewhere you’ll see it often.
Pray: God, thank You for showing me the path to living in freedom. Your ways are perfect. Help me to learn them and to walk in them every day of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
