The Missing Link: From Doubt to Hopeنموونە
Day 3:
Where I live we get all four seasons. I have lived here most of my life and although I am used to it, every winter I dream of being in a warmer climate where I don’t have to hibernate to survive.
Recently, my husband and I really got serious about preparing to move before the winter. We started doing things around the house, finding areas that would have a good school district for our children, and looking into transferring our businesses to another state.
We had so much fun getting ready to experience something new. Although that move didn’t happen yet, what did happen was a renewed sense of hope toward the possibility and potential of moving to an area I always dreamed of living in.
See I had gone through so many things in the past season, as I mentioned on Day 1, that I had lost my desire and ability to have hope. God used that season of dreaming to reignite hope in me.
Here is what we must remember: Proverbs tells us that ‘Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.’ The longing that was fulfilled was not me actually moving, it was my desire to have the ability to hope again for good things to happen in my life. To no longer live from a place of impending doom but great anticipation and expectation of my cup overflowing was a longing fulfilled. The tool he used to do that was by allowing me to dream again.
My sister once told me that satan's language is lies but God’s language is truth. The truth about who God is and his desire to give us hope and a future should become what we exchange our doubts for. It's a beautiful exchange that I want to encourage you to make today. It is this truth that will take us From Doubt to Hope.
