Day 1 - The Evidence of God’s Voice
We read in Genesis 1 that God had spoken and the earth and everything we know was created. We learn through this that God’s Voice becomes the “foundation of the universe” and this Voice has the power to create!
After everything we see God create, He says. “It is Good”, except when He says in Genesis 2:8a, “Then the LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone.” This happens after Adam names all the living creatures, God then creates Eve to fill this need. They were given instructions not to eat from “The tree of the knowledge of good and evil” and yet when tempted by the snake they eat it. Why?
Pieter Coffee writes the following in his Book, Voices:
“To open our ears to any voice and listen to it means that we are willing to take counsel and advice from that Voice. This is what happened to Adam and Eve. What God said in private, suddenly became a debate in public. What are the voices you are listening to? Where and from whom are you getting your counsel?“
Although we have sinned many times, God still has a plan for us. We are the work of His hands and His chosen people. He is calling us back to Him, and He is waiting for us to respond to His voice. His plan is for us to be close to Him and that is why He sent His Son!
Today take a moment and pray the following:
Father, I come to you, just as I am. In my sin and shame, I ask you to forgive all my sins. Wash me in your mercy and cleanse my heart with your forgiveness. I repent and turn to you. Restore our friendship and fill my heart with the joy of your salvation. Thank you for your love and Thank you for the Cross!
In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen
