Tangled Truth
What’s true? Like, what’s always true? Is there such a thing? Or is everything sometimes true? Like, maybe it’s true for me, but it’s not true for you. Ugh. It’s enough to make your head hurt!
Okay, okay. Untense those shoulders. Untangle that knot in your stomach.
Here’s some really, really good news: There is truth! There is eternal, unchanging, always true truth! And the better news? You can know this truth. And knowing this truth will cause such a strong maturity in you that it might even shock others.
The Bible describes people who know and walk in God’s truth as people who are growing in every way more and more like Christ. Sound good? It is!
Watch this verse song video that describes exactly that. It’s taken from Ephesians 4:14-15. This video uses the NLT version of the Bible. Have a listen!
Ask yourself: Do I have a hard time deciding whether some things are true and godly or not? What is something I’m not sure about the truth of?
Challenge yourself: Grab a piece of paper and something to write with. As you read Ephesians 4:14-15 today, think of one phrase taken from these verses that shows what you really need to focus on and grow in as you work through this Bible Plan. Examples: “I will no longer be immature,” or “I will not be influenced by clever lies,” or “I will grow more and more like Christ.” Hang this paper somewhere you’ll easily notice it. Leave it hanging at least until you’re done reading through the last day of this Bible Plan.
Pray: God, thank You for teaching me how to be like Your Son, Jesus. Thank You that becoming more and more like Jesus is exactly what leads me to walking and living in Your truth. Thank You for teaching me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan
Is anything always true, or are things just “true for me” and “true for you”? And, when I feel strongly that I believe the truth—and you feel strongly that something different is true—how are we supposed to get along? This Bible Plan for preteens is here to help answer those questions! You’ll learn the lifelong habit of untangling truth from the mess of false teaching and tense conversations.
